Part-time Evening and Weekend Invigilator (term-time only; 4 posts)

We are looking for 4 term-time Weekend and Evening Library Invigilators to
work in the historic Old Bodleian Library and Radcliffe Camera. These
buildings house Humanities collections in English, History, Classics,
Philosophy, Theology and Reference as well as the History Faculty Library and
the Bodleian's Main Enquiry Desk.



You will undertake a range of library duties including answering readers' and
visitors' questions, issuing / returning items, dealing with book supply /
circulation queries, invigilation, book replacing, and supporting the book
delivery process.



You will be educated to GCSE standard or equivalent, be reliable and punctual,
be able to undertake routine tasks with accuracy, possess good IT skills and
have a strong customer service focus. You will also have excellent
communication skills.



These roles involve lifting, carrying and shelving books, and pushing trolleys
as well as assisting with the safe evacuation of the building in an emergency,
helping to clear the building at closing time and may also involve guiding the
book delivery van into a busy quadrangle.



These are permanent, part-time (0.189 FTE), term-time only posts, as follows:



Post 1 and 2: 2 evenings per week, 7pm to 10pm for 8 weeks per term plus
Saturdays, 10am to 4pm for 9 weeks per term



Post 3 and 4: 2 evenings per week, 7pm to 10pm for 8 weeks per term plus
Sundays, 11am to 5pm for 9 weeks per term.



Additional posts may be available, for which candidates may also be
considered.
