The Department of Politics and International Relations (DPIR) at Oxford is an
internationally renowned centre of excellence for teaching and research. The
study of these disciplines at Oxford has a long and distinguished history and
the department is one of the largest in the field in the UK.



We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated coordinator to join our
busy Courses Team to provide administrative support for our MPhil and MSc
programmes. The role provides an excellent opportunity to develop a career in
courses administration within a widely renowned academic department. This is a
full-time, permanent appointment and available immediately.



The post-holder will look after one MSc (MSc in Politics Research) and two
MPhil programmes (MPhil in Comparative Government and MPhil in European
Politics and Society), and will provide support to the relevant Course
Directors and the Director of Research Training in the coordination of these
courses. Further main responsibilities are to support the admissions and
examinations processes, arranging teaching timetables, providing committee
support, acting as a first point of contact for all prospective and current
students, preparing and updating course materials and publicity documents.



The successful candidate will have a good general level of education (A-level
or equivalent), along with strong organisational, interpersonal and IT skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) and an
ability to relate well to students and academic staff are also essential. The
post holder will be a good team player, and also able to work independently,
when required. Experience of working in a higher education institution is
desirable.
