<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <p></p><p>We are seeking a customer-focused Part-time Library Assistant to work as part of a small team in the iconic and busy Radcliffe Camera, which houses the History Faculty Library and Bodleian English and History undergraduate collections.</p><br> <p>You will support the provision of Bodleian Radcliffe Camera library services and assist in front line reader services work in the Lower Camera, including staffing the circulation desk and checking in and shelving items requested by readers for material held in the offsite closed stack. The work is physical but also requires a good eye for detail and accuracy as well as the ability to work independently.</p><br> <p>In addition, the role also has basic collection maintenance responsibilities for printed collections in the Radcliffe Camera.</p><br> <p>Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team are essential. The ability to do routine library work under pressure with care and accuracy, reliability and good interpersonal skills are also essential. Previous experience of library work is desirable, as is familiarity with ALEPH / library databases, though full training will be given as necessary.</p><br> <p>This is a permanent, part-time post working 16 hours per week. Working pattern will include undertaking one or more evening duties (currently Friday 5.00 &#150; 7.00pm in vacation, and 5.00 &#150; 10.00pm in term); working Saturday all year round.</p><br> <p>This role requires lifting and carrying boxes of library materials, pushing trolleys and using kick-stools in order to access some of the library&#146;s bookshelves and to re-shelve materials. This role involves up to 2 hours of shelving per day and processing large deliveries of books from the Book Storage Facility.</p><br> <p>You will be required to upload a supporting statement as part of your online application.
