Humanities Undergraduate Project and Outreach Assistant

The Humanities Division is one of four academic divisions in the University of
Oxford, bringing together the faculties of Classics; English; History;
Linguistics, Philology and Phonetics; Medieval and Modern Languages; Music;
Oriental Studies; Philosophy; and Theology and Religion, as well as the Ruskin
School of Art. The division has responsibility for around 4000 undergraduate
students, and is committed to attracting and admitting students from all
backgrounds with outstanding academic potential and the ability to benefit
from an Oxford education.



The Humanities Undergraduate Project and Outreach Assistant will be part of
the Humanities Education Support team, providing support to undergraduate
projects, and in particular to outreach activities. The postholder will
provide administrative support to the Faculty Outreach Officers for various
faculty outreach initiatives, including the development of ambassador schemes
and mentoring schemes for offer-holders. The postholder will also provide
administrative support for cross-faculty and Divisional outreach activities
under the direction of the Head of Humanities Education Support and Assistant
Registrar (Education). Duties will be varied and include organising internal
and external meetings and events, keeping records and minutes, acting as a
point of contact for enquiries, contributing to communication activity, and
data collation and initial analysis.



The successful candidate will: be educated to A-level standard or equivalent
with experience in administration, preferably in higher education or a similar
field; have excellent communications skills; have strong numerical skills;
have good IT skills; have previous experience of organising events and/or
outreach activities; be able to work with a wide range of internal and
external stakeholders and partners, including applicants, students, academics,
faculties and colleges; be able to work independently and flexibly, often
without direct supervision, and to prioritise competing demands efficiently
