The University proposes to appoint an Associate Professor Early Modern
Christianities. The post is available from 1 October 2019. This is a full-
time, permanent post (subject to successful completion of a review). The
appointee will be a member of the Faculty of Theology and Religion and hold a
tutorial fellowship at Keble College.



The successful candidate will be an exceptional researcher and teacher in
Early Modern Christianities. They will undertake research and scholarship on
the history and theology of Christianity in the Early Modern period, give
lectures, classes and tutorials, supervise, support and examine students at
all levels, and play a part in the administrative work of the Faculty and the
College.



They will hold a doctorate in any field relating to the history and theology
of the Early Modern period and have a research and publication record of
international standing in the field.



The successful candidate will have a demonstrable record of excellence in
teaching and an ability to engage in syllabus development in Early Modern
Christianities at undergraduate and graduate level. They will also be able to
provide evidence of successful research supervision and commitment to raising
research funding.



The combined College and University salary will be on a scale up to £63,463
p.a. The Fellow will also receive a pensionable housing allowance, currently
£10,197 p.a.
