<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <p></p><p>We are pleased to announce the availability of two full-time Senior Research Associate in Artificial Intelligence and Semantic Technologies positions, available for up to 3 years. Researchers in all topics related to semantic technologies will be considered, with a preference towards researchers working on scalable systems for reasoning and query answering over large scale data sources, and on integrating machine learning and semantic technologies; see, e.g., our RDFox project (www.cs.ox.ac.uk/isg/tools/RDFox/) and our AIDA project (www.turing.ac.uk/research/research-projects/artificial-intelligence-data-analytics).</p><br> <p>We aim to push forward the capabilities of semantic technologies, examining a number of directions such as developing languages and algorithms for declarative data analysis of static and dynamic data, distributed storage and reasoning, stream reasoning, integrating semantic and relational stores, and the (semi-) automation of data wrangling and knowledge acquisition. You will be conducting original research in these areas.</p><br> <p>You will join a world-leading group with expertise in both the theory and practice of semantic technologies as recently recognised by best paper awards at both the International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence (IJCAI), and the International Conference on the Semantic Web (ISWC). See www.cs.ox.ac.uk/isg/krr for more information about the research group and our various research projects.</p><br> <p>The primary selection criteria are a relevant PhD/DPhil with post-qualification research experience, in theoretical computer science (particularly logic and/or databases). Experience in semantic technologies such as Datalog, RDF, and OWL, or of making grant applications is highly desirable.</p><br> <p>Whilst the role is a Grade 8 position, we would be willing to consider candidates with potential but less experience who are seeking a development opportunity, for which an initial appointment would be at Grade 7 (&#163;32,236 - &#163;39,609 p.a.) with the responsibilities adjusted accordingly (for Grade 7, you would be expected to hold a doctoral degree in computer science OR be close to completion). This would be discussed with applicants at interview/appointment where appropriate.</p><br> <p>The closing date for applications is 12.00 noon on 7 May 2019.</p> </div>
