<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <p></p><p>An excellent opportunity has arisen for two full-time Teaching Support Technicians to join the Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics (DPAG).</p><br> <p>You will be part of a team responsible for providing excellent technical services to the lecturers and students before, during and after classes. This involves setting up of classes, assisting students during class on procedures and the proper use of equipment used in the class, and ensuring that all materials are properly stored away and classrooms are ready for the next practical. You will ensure that the teaching rooms and apparatus are kept clean and tidy at all times and to provide general assistance with practical needs when required and prepare any necessary solutions required for the class. Successful applicants will maintain equipment, including washing, sterilisation and disposal, perform quality checks and contribute to the general cleanliness and upkeep of the teaching laboratory space.</p><br> <p>You will be given the opportunity to learn new skills and techniques, where full training will be provided. In addition to supporting teaching, you will support key research activities in the Department, primarily but not exclusively during vacation periods when there is no teaching.</p><br> <p>The postholder will be educated to BTEC/NVQ level 3 in science or equivalent and have demonstrable knowledge of biology and a keen interest in laboratory work. They will have good communication and teamwork skills and have the ability to work using own initiative, unsupervised and as part of a team, including the ability to plan and prioritise own workload.</p><br> <p>The position is based in the Sherrington Building, Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics, Parks Road, Oxford.</p><br> <p>The closing date for applications is 12.00 midday on Wednesday 14 August 2019. Interviews are likely to be held week commencing 2 September 2019.</p> </div>
