The Humanities Division are looking to appoint a Finance Assistant to join
their shared services team of finance colleagues. The successful applicant
will join an agile and dynamic team of professionals that provide finance
services across the Division. The Finance Assistants in our team work closely
on a day-to-day basis with the Finance Officers who are embedded in each
faculty on a day-to-day basis and with the Humanities Division Finance
Business Partner. The Finance Assistant is responsible for the day-to-day
transactional and finance tasks that underpin the operations of the Division
and the faculties within it. This post is full-time and permanent.
We are looking for a friendly, professional and highly motivated team player.
You will be educated to A level standard or equivalent, have experience of
financial administration in a large organisation; highly numerate. You will be
able to organise your workload using own initiative and with minimal
supervision; work to deadlines; be able to generate high volumes of accurate
work with high attention to detail. You will have excellent written and verbal
communication skills; have experience of using Microsoft Word and Excel. You
will have strong organisational skills; and the ability to establish effective
working relationships with staff, both academic and administrative, at all
levels, remaining calm and patient under pressure.
Understanding or experience of the University’s Oracle financial system will
be a strong advantage.
