The Deputy Administrator plays a key and senior role in the Faculty of English&#8217;s administrative team. The main function of the post is to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the busy Faculty Office, the first point of contact for academic, student and visitor enquiries; in addition, the Deputy Administrator has primary responsibility for dealing with building matters, including acting as the Faculty&#8217;s Departmental Safety Officer and DSE assessor; personnel administration, including supporting recruitment for academic and administrative posts, maintaining personnel records and casual payroll administration; and organising the Faculty&#8217;s public lectures. They may also be asked to lead on specific projects on behalf of the Head of Administration and Finance and to deputise for her in her absence.</p><br> <p>This is an interesting and varied role providing an excellent opportunity for career progression within higher education administration. The successful applicant will have significant experience of administration, excellent attention to detail and the ability and enthusiasm to implement new administrative systems and processes.
