<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <p></p><p>The successful appointee will undertake postdoctoral research in the programme Unlocking the Potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for English Law, funded by the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) via the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).</p><br> <p>The postholder will have responsibility for carrying out research for Work Package 2 of this programme (Mapping Digital Justice), reporting to and under the direct guidance of the Principal Investigators for this Work Package, Professor Abi Adams-Prassl (Economics) and Professor Jeremias Adams-Prassl (Law). The overall Research Programme runs over 27 months to 31 March 2021. The postholder is expected to work closely with the Principal Investigators, and to coordinate with Principal Investigators and junior members of the other Work Packages in the Research Programme.</p><br> <p>The successful candidate will conduct research on the themes above as directed by the Principal Investigators of the Mapping Digital Justice Work Package. S/he under the direct guidance of the Principal Investigators will manage their own academic research and administrative activities. This will involve small scale project management, to coordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines for fieldwork and conference/workshop presentations. S/he will be required to liaise with Principal Investigators and research staff across disciplines in other Work Packages in the AI for English Law programme and colleagues in private sector partner organisations to prepare appropriate course content.</p><br> <p>Applicants should hold, or, or be nearing completion of, a relevant PhD/DPhil in law, human rights, computer science, politics, philosophy or other relevant discipline, together with relevant experience; have excellent research skills and the ability to contribute, under the direction of the Principal Investigators, to the design, analysis and writing of scholarly articles, papers and monographs, as evidenced in research training and written work and as a professional familiarity with scholarly literature and debates in the relevant area(s), as evidenced in research training and written work.</p><br> <p>The post is full-time and fixed-term until 31 March 2021 and will be based at the Faculty of Law, University of Oxford, St Cross Building, St Cross Road, Oxford, OX1 3UL.</p><br> <p>Applications for this vacancy are to be made online.</p><br> <p>The closing date for applications is 12.00 midday on Friday 6 March 2020.
