Project Officer

Applications for this vacancy closed on 15 July 2020 at 12:00PM
The University of Oxford is seeking to appoint a full-time Project Officer to
join its Virtues and Vocations project group (building on the work of the
Oxford Character Project), exploring the intersection between character
formation, leadership development and institutional culture in four specific
industry sectors: business, finance, law and technology.

The project's research is intended to advance theoretical and practical
knowledge of character formation as it concerns the focal sectors. Our work
will be thoroughly interdisciplinary, considering philosophical, theological,
psychological, educational, and sociological aspects of character virtue
development.

As the Project Officer, you will coordinate and oversee the administration of
the project, supporting the Project Director in ensuring the effective
management of the project.

Your work will involve coordination of research and programme development
activities involving multiple Oxford departments as well as academic and
industry partners in the UK and around the world. You will also be: handling
the financial administration; monitoring the project's budget and drafting
funding reports; overseeing the coordination of academic conferences, teaching
programmes and public events; providing executive assistance to the Project
Director; managing the project's website and communications.

The position is based in central Oxford. This is a fixed-term post for three
years from 1 September 2020, or as soon as possible thereafter, until 31
August 2023.

This role will not attract sufficient points to obtain a sponsored tier 2 visa
under the points based immigration system; however, applications are welcome
from candidates who do not currently have the right to work in the UK, but who
may be eligible to obtain a visa via another route.

To apply, please submit a CV and a supporting statement setting out how you
meet each of the essential criteria.

The closing date for applications is 12.00 midday on Wednesday 15 July 2020.
Interviews are scheduled for Monday 27 July.
