Postdoctoral Research Associate in Human-Plus-Robot Workplace (2 posts)

We are pleased to announce an opening for two full-time Postdoctoral Research
Associates (PDRA) in Human-Plus-Robot Workplace. You would be expected to
start from October 2020 if possible.



The University of Oxford and Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced a new
strategic collaboration on 1 May 2020 to build a portfolio of new research
projects relating to artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, cyber-physical
systems and human-centred computing. We aim to revolutionize approaches to
world-leading research, education, innovation and commercialisation in human-
machine collaboration technologies by providing a platform for a large scale,
multinational research-innovation-venture collaboration, focusing on
logistics, high tech (robotics, AI/ML, IoT, secure autonomous systems), and
emergency response services.



Postdoctoral Research Assistants in the Oxford - Singapore Human-Machine
Collaboration Initiative Human-Robot Shared Autonomy: Develop novel planning
and learning technologies to allow humans and AI systems to share the control
of a robot platform.



The primary selection criteria are a doctoral degree (or close to completion)
in computer science, information engineering or electrical engineering. You
must also have excellent writing, communication, presentation, and
organisation skills, and a strong publication record in any of the following:
indoor positioning and navigation for people and/or robots, robot-person
collaboration, scene perception and/or activity recognition (e.g. using
vision/inertial/magnetic/radio sensor systems), probabilistic state estimation
and machine learning (incl. deep learning).
