Senior Research Associate - Oxford Tencent Research Fellow

The Department of Computer Science have an opening for a full-time Senior
Research Associate to the Oxford-Tencent Research Fellowship for a fixed-term
period of up to 3 years. You will be developing research questions, and
conducting individual research relevant to the goals of the Oxford-Tencent
Fellowship; writing short progress reports relating to progress in developing
emulation techniques / software; and supervising software development relating
to emulating quantum computation and related computational problems.





You will hold a PhD/DPhil (or close to completion)* in Computer Science or
related discipline, together with relevant experience and a proven record of
research, including strong publications, in at least one of the areas of
quantum algorithms, quantum cryptography or quantum verification, or high-
level notations for quantum computation.





Whilst the role is a grade 8 position, we would be willing to consider
candidates with potential but less experience who are seeking a development
opportunity, for which an initial appointment would be at grade 7 (Grade 7:
£32,817 - £40,322 p.a.) with the responsibilities adjusted accordingly. This
would be discussed with applicants at interview/appointment where appropriate.
