<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <p></p><div>The Humanities Division is seeking a full-time Finance Officer to join the Divisional Finance shared services team on a fixed term basis for 13 months. &#160;This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and agile team supporting the Faculties in the Humanities Division. You will provide dedicated support for the financial operations within Oriental Studies and Ruskin School of Art.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>The post will work closely with the Head of Administration and Finance (HAF) for the Faculties in taking responsibility for the financial operations. You will be part of the Faculty administrative team supporting the academic mission of the University &#8211; teaching and research. Responsibilities will include: carrying out month-end, quarter-end and year-end procedures, monitoring financial position, day-to-day management of core finance functions, preparing budgets and forecasts, contribute to medium/long term strategic plan, provide financial support for research grants including guidance on funder terms and conditions, advise on utilisation of funds (including returns on trust fund investments), supervise work of finance assistant, provide financial advice as and when required, and carrying out all duties in compliance with University&#8217;s financial regulations.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>We are looking for a friendly, professional and highly motivated team player. You will be educated to degree level or equivalent, either hold or be working towards AAT qualification or equivalent, with significant previous experience in financial administration, preparing finance reports and implementing financial controls. You will have accomplished IT skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will have strong organisational skills with demonstrable experience of prioritising a varied workload and meeting deadlines using your own initiative and with minimal supervision, with excellent attention to detail in your work. You will have the ability to establish effective working relationships with staff, both academic and administrative, at all levels, remaining calm and patient under pressure.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>If, for any reason, you have taken a career break or have had an atypical career and wish to disclose this in your application, the selection committee will take this into account. The selection committee will also be mindful of the impact that the Covid-19 pandemic may have had on candidates&#8217; careers as a result of additional caring responsibilities or other factors.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>This role could be available as an internal secondment, and would be an ideal opportunity for you to experience being the senior finance representative embedded in a faculty.
