The Department of Computer Science has an excellent opportunity for a Part
time Graduate Studies Assistant to provide high-quality administrative and
organisational support to the Student Administration team on a permanent
basis.





This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in
University administration. The workload is varied and demanding, requiring
excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.





Initially reporting to the Head of Student Administration, and working under
the direction of the Graduate Studies Administrator, your primary
responsibility will be the on course support for students on the DPhil in
Computer Science degree. You will be responsible for the on-course
administration of student progression on the programme including monitoring
student funding and providing guidance and advice to students and supervisors.





The successful candidate should have a good general education level, to
A-level standard or equivalent. You will have strong administrative skills,
preferably gained in a higher education field or similar. You must have
excellent communication skills in order to liaise with a diverse range of
people, both internally and externally and of varying levels of seniority,
together with proficient IT skills in MS office and the ability to learn new
systems. You should have the ability to work independently, with minimum
supervision as well as knowing when to refer issues to others. You should be
numerate, with the ability to process and analyse financial information, with
respect to student funding. Prior experience of working in a student
administration role in a university environment is desirable.

Interviews are expected to be held in week commencing 24th January 2022.
