<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <p></p><div>Applications are invited for the post of Associate Professorship of Biostimulation and Immunological Engineering to join a new cross-divisional research cluster in Biomaterials between the Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences (NDORMS) and the Institute of Biomedical Engineering (IBME), which is part of the Department of Engineering Science. The post holder will be based at Botnar Research Centre, Oxford and work with the Statutory Chair in Biomaterials (Prof. Eleanor Stride), and will hold a Senior Research Fellowship at Green Templeton College.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>You will support the important and rapidly growing cross-disciplinary area of Biomaterials, strengthening the existing drug delivery, immunomodulation and biostimulation efforts, and supporting the fast-growing field of antimicrobial research. You will engage in original research in the field of Biostimulation and Immunological Engineering, secure research funding and engage in the management of research projects as well as disseminate research through publication in scholarly journals, participation in international conferences and seminars, and through other media. You will carry out teaching at post-graduate level including lectures, classes, demonstrations and project supervision. You will also support Green Templeton College in advanced study and research, participation in college committees, academic activities and support of their graduate students.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>You should have a doctorate in the field of Biomedical Engineering, Biophysics, Biomaterials or a cognate discipline. A proven research record of high-quality research at international level in one or more of the research areas (i.e. biomicrofluidics, biostimulation, biophysical methods of drug delivery and immunomodulation) is essential, as demonstrated by previous achievements, e.g. publications in recognised journals and conferences, or equivalent evidence of excellence in research, as is a good track record of inter-disciplinary collaboration with clinical and/or biomedical science researchers; the ability to attract research funding and develop an independent programme of research in the above area(s); and the ability to supervise graduate students. Experience of technology transfer and/or of successful collaborations with industry and/or other research impact in the field, experience of clinical translational research studies and experience of, or an interest in, developing links with industry are desirable.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>This is a full-time appointment, for five years in the first instance, then reappointment to retirement upon completion of a successful review.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>Applications for this vacancy are to be made online.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>The closing date for this position is <strong>12 noon on Monday 13 June 2022</strong>.
