Are you interested in bringing Oxford&#8217;s communities together through community outreach and engagement with museum collections?</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>This role is at the History of Science Museum and is an exciting opportunity to work in the multi-award winning <em>MultakaOxford</em> programme (<em>Multaka</em> means &#8216;meeting point&#8217; in Arabic) as the Community Outreach and Engagement facilitator. <em>MultakaOxford</em> is part of the journey of how communities and museums can work more closely together. It brings people, communities and museum objects together to strengthen understanding and celebrate our cultures, history and identity by including more voices and experiences.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>The Community Outreach and Engagement Facilitator will work to bring the museum, people and partners across Oxfordshire together. The successful candidate will be responsible for engaging and working with people and organisations to consult, plan, deliver and evaluate activities, events and exhibitions with the museum&#8217;s collections. These activities will be co-planned and co-delivered in partnership with local communities and people, and will happen in the museum and across Oxfordshire through community outreach.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>The MultakaOxford programme welcomes everyone and also provides structured support for people who may have settled/are settling in Oxford as a refugee or asylum seeker. This role will actively work across Oxford and Oxfordshire communities to help people get involved, support all the activities with the History of Science Museum in community venues through outreach and in the museum. The role will also develop new partnerships across Oxfordshire and be proactive in consulting and delivering the programme&#8217;s workplan.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>MultakaOxford works across the History of Science Museum and the Pitt Rivers Museum. This role will be based at the History of Science Museum and will be supported by the Project Coordinator and a second Community and Outreach Engagement facilitator at the Pitt Rivers Museum.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>This position is offered part time on a fixed term contract for 4 years until February 2026.
