You will provide a professional, high quality customerfocused service, assisting the team and researchers with the management of financial transactions. The team deals with a high volume of activity, and you will have to be adaptable, organised, a good communicator and a team player. Reporting to the Finance Manager you will work as a Finance Apprentice to gain skills and experience both in the workplace, and through the completion of a course of study. Appropriate objectives will be set during the course of your Apprenticeship and you will be assigned a mentor to oversee your development. You will complete a Level 3 Assistant Accountant apprenticeship standard, which includes the L2 AAT qualification as a foundation. You will gain an Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Level 2 Foundation Certificate, and a Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting qualification as part of this apprenticeship. Please note that college attendance and successful completion of these studies is required as an integral part of this Apprenticeship. You will complete a Level 3 Assistant Accountant apprenticeship standard, which includes the L2 AAT qualification as a foundation. You will gain an Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Level 2 Foundation Certificate, and a Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting qualification as part of this apprenticeship.

 

For this apprenticeship, you will work at the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences (NDCN) based on level 6 of the West Wing at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Headington, Oxford. As part of your apprenticeship, you will be required to attend college one day and the department four days, per week.

 

In total, it will take 21 months (1 year, 9 months) to complete all elements of the apprenticeship, with support from the Department, University, and College throughout.

About you

 

You will be passionate about starting your career in Finance and excited about the opportunity of becoming an apprentice at the University of Oxford. You may be starting your career or you may be looking for a career change.

 

To complete the level 3 apprenticeship, you will need to evidence passes at 9-4 or A*-C in GCSE Maths and English. Abingdon & Witney college will ask you to complete a short initial assessment during the application process. There are also government residency requirements for Apprenticeship funding which the Training Provider will be able to advise on.
