The post holder will report to the PI Prof Michael Bronstein, and will provide support to him and the postdocs and students working on the project. The administrator will ensure that the award is managed effectively and that the project teams are supported in the delivery of world leading research and dissemination. The role will be varied covering anything from assisting with the forecasting of project funds to the arrangement of travel for project teams and the organization of workshops and visits. Responsibilities/duties The post holder will be expected to work independently with minimal supervision from their line manager.  Handle queries relating to the project  Manage diaries for PI and co-investigators – arranging meeting and ensuring that diaries are handled efficiently  Handle communications (email, written, phone) in support of the PI  Assist with the project organization, equipment purchasing and resource allocation                 Ensure the project keeps to budget and have relevant papers to support expenditure Track the project budget, working with finance to ensure effective management of the funds Co-ordinate and manage key project information, including setting up and maintaining appropriate filing systems Organise and coordinate project meetings and workshops with all project partners to ensure the project is progressing effectively. Work with departmental IT team to develop and maintain project web site. Department of Computer Science The Department of Computer Science was established in 1957, making it one of the longestestablished Computer Science departments in the country. It is one of the UK’s leading Computer Science Departments (ranked first in a number of international rankings). Our Computer Science and Informatics submission to the UK Research Excellence Framework (REF) in December 2021 resulted in 81% of research activity ranked as 4* (world-leading) and the rest ranked as 3* (internationally excellent). We are looking for a part-time Research Project Administrator, to work for a Research group, under the supervision of Professor Michael Bronstein. This post is an exciting opportunity for someone who is keen to support and collaboratively work with a fast paced and world-leading research group.

 

This role will provide administrative support for the UKRI funded project Geometric and Topological Machine Learning for Next Generation Drugs and Food. The project administrator will ensure that the award is managed effectively and that the project teams are supported in the delivery of world leading research and dissemination. The role will be varied covering anything from assisting with the forecasting of project funds to the arrangement of travel for project teams and the organization of workshops and visits. 

 

The post holder will be expected to work independently with minimal supervision from their line manager, handling queries relating to the project, managing diaries for PI and co-investigators, assisting with the project organization, tracking the project budget, assisting with reporting and providing additional administrative support as required.

 

The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, experience of project management, including budgeting and writing funding proposals. Experience is also required in capturing and documenting progress made in a research project and producing regular reports for funding bodies.  

 

Applicants should have a university degree in a relevant topic, excellent writing skills, and be able to work independently, with the ability to create reports, budgets and other materials, on time and to a high standard.

The project administrator will ensure that the award is managed effectively and that the project teams are supported in the delivery of world leading research and dissemination. The role will be varied covering anything from assisting with the forecasting of project funds to the arrangement of travel for project teams and the organization of workshops and visits. The post holder will be expected to work independently with minimal supervision from their line manager, handling queries relating to the project, managing diaries for PI and co-investigators, assisting with the project organization, tracking the project budget, assisting with reporting and providing additional administrative support as required. The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, experience of project management, including budgeting and writing funding proposals. Experience is also required in capturing and documenting progress made in a research project and producing regular reports for funding bodies. Applicants should have a university degree in a relevant topic, excellent writing skills, and be able to work independently, with the ability to create reports, budgets and other materials, on time and to a high standard.
