A position for an SQL BI Developer has been created to source and prepare data for analysis and perform standard business intelligence analysis as required for the research purposes. As the ideal candidate you will be adept at working with large data sets to develop advanced, scalable reporting solutions from end-to-end, utilising the latest reporting technologies where appropriate and evaluating new methods of data analysis and design to improve and expand reporting capabilities. You should have the ability to apply standard data modelling and design techniques based upon a detailed understanding of requirements. In order to help identify areas for enhancements in delivering this role you will be expected to interpret and analyse data for comparative analysis, benchmarking, and trend analysis, bringing together data to communicate clear themes and trends. Responsibilities • • • • • • • • Collaborate with business stakeholders, Data Managers (SQL Developers), and other team members to gather and analyse business requirements for BI solutions. Design, develop, and implement interactive reports and dashboards using Microsoft Power BI and other tools, including data modelling, data visualisation, and data integration. Create and maintaining data models, data flows, and data pipelines to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various data sources into Power BI. Optimise Power BI reports and dashboards for performance and usability, including data refresh schedules, query optimisation, and report/dashboard design. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data integrity, data accuracy, and report/dashboard functionality. Provide technical expertise and guidance to team members and business users on best practices for using Power BI, including data visualisation, data analysis, and report/dashboard development.
