The Nuffield Department of Women's & Reproductive Health is looking for a
Research Assistant to support two research groups, the Global Ultrasound Group
led by Prof Aris Papageorghiou and INTERPRACTICE, reporting to Dr Adele
Winsey. Both these groups are working towards the goal of improving maternal
and child health.





The Global Health Group run a number of studies in the department, the first
you will work on is looking at the feasibility of developing a clinical study
platform to test emerging technologies. This will include the team working
with regulatory bodies, patients, healthcare professionals and ethics
committees to gather data on how best to conduct a clinical trial. You will
support the team in developing clinical protocols, conducting focus group
discussions, and facilitating meetings with external stakeholders. You will
gain experience interpreting qualitative data as well as research governance
structures both in the UK but also in Europe and the USA.





The INTERPRACTICE body composition study aims to promote optimal postnatal
growth in preterm infants, both by implementing standardised growth
measurements and implementing feeding recommendations. You will support this
study by performing a data management/coordinator role.





You will hold a master’s degree in a relevant subject, together with some
relevant experience, and significant and demonstrable research interest in the
field of maternal and child health. You will have independent and original
problem-solving skills, effective and flexible time management skills,
including demonstrated ability to deliver to deadlines, and project management
skills including managing multiple work packages. The ability to manage own
research and administrative activities, excellent communication (written and
oral) skills, and previous data management experience are essential for this
role.





This is a part-time role (80%/30 hours per week) and is fixed term for one
