Working as part of our Facilities team you will be responsible for the day to day maintenance of the College and our student accommodation; as well as setting up rooms for events and meetings. You will be based at Reuben College reporting directly to the Building Manager, but will also visit our student accommodation sites; Farndon Court and Winchester Road Villas on a regular basis to carry out maintenance. You will have a ‘’can do attitude’’ and demonstrate a wide range of experience in general repair and maintenance, whilst possessing a willingness to adapt to new and evolving challenges. Responsibilities • Provide a high level of customer service at all times, including handling and resolving enquiries from building users and other customers, both face to face and over email • Carry out basic repairs and maintenance to the College and its student accommodation buildings • Install and construct equipment and furniture • Manage the setting up and breaking down of rooms for meetings and events; which will involve in moving furniture and setting up audio visual aids as required • Plan and assist in the movement of office furniture when required, liaising with local users to inform and minimize disruption • Perform daily walkthroughs to ensure all areas of the interior and grounds of the College are clean, safe and well-maintained • Monitor stock levels and order consumables using the University Finance system Oracle • Liaise & escort contractors and University staff while on College premises; ensuring service standards are maintained • Maintain a high standard of health and safety and service to the building users by undertaking regular building checks and proactively identifying areas for improvement The post-holder will be expected to be flexible and may be subject to review with the post holder in order to respond appropriately to the College’s changing requirements. College Reuben College was established as a graduate society of Oxford University in 2019, and is named in recognition of a generous founding gift from the Reuben Foundation. Admitting its first 130 students in October 2021, the College is dedicated to fostering interdisciplinary exchange within an inclusive and impact-oriented academic community. In its first years, the College’s academic interests cluster around four themes, one each from the University’s four Divisions: Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Environmental Change, Cellular Life, and Ethics & Values.
