The team makes videos and other multimedia content at a high standard, is a hub for professional knowledge and standards for video across the University, and leads the creative direction of multimedia projects. The post holder reports to one of the Creative Media Managers, and they will have a close working relationship with the Campaigns Project Manager and the research and innovation communications team. Responsibilities    Support the delivery of new multimedia projects across the collegiate University, identified in line with departmental priorities (approximately 50% research-related and 50% covering a range of PAD and VCled strategic priorities) Video production and editing, and supporting work, such as creating scripts, storyboards, imagery, transcripts, metadata and other relevant copy Support with additional asset creation depending on skills, including but not limited to animation, social media assets and copywriting          Help to develop and deliver on the creative direction of projects, taking into account internal clients’ priorities, audience requirements, channels, timescales and resources Maintain strong professional relationships with key communications stakeholders across the collegiate University, providing technical expertise as required Support the team to develop creative ideas and pitch to internal clients in relevant departments Monitor and evaluate projects both on and offline, to help guide future content and generate new content ideas Help to maintain quality standards and guidance around video production across PAD, including providing training Keep up-to-date with trends in both video production and wider sector multimedia through research and relationships with relevant contacts external to the University Help manage video assets held by PAD Be an active member of the University’s Video Community of Practice, in order to share information, promote best practice and ensure cross-University communications are coordinated Other duties as may reasonably be requested by the Head of Campaigns and Digital Communications or the Communications Director Selection criteria Essential         Significant professional experience in producing videos from planning stages to post-production and promotion, including: planning production schedules, storyboarding, recruiting cast, writing and editing scripts, the use of camera and sound recording equipment, still photography, video editing and sound editing. Professional experience in video editing, using industry-standard editing and post-production software to produce professional-standard video content and animations. Demonstrable creativity and initiative in the development of multimedia concepts and the evaluation thereof, covering a range of audiences and purposes, both on and offline Demonstrable knowledge of compliance and copyright issues related to multimedia, including rights management and GDPR Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, including proven ability to develop and deliver pitches for non-creative clients, and strong subject-interviewing skills Excellent project management skills, preferably in video production Must be a self-directed strategic thinker with the capacity to problem-solve, take initiative, set priorities, and exercise good judgment in an organised and professional manner At least one of the following:  Significant professional experience or equivalent qualification in motion graphics and digital animation, with proven skills in conceptualisation, scripting, storyboarding and production  Experience developing multimedia content for social media, especially TikTok and Instagram, for a high-profile brand or organisation  Experience in the production of creative, engaging and channel/audience specific written content for a high-profile brand or organisation, eg long-form editorial, blog posts, social media content or article.
