You will be part of a lively and intellectually stimulating research community which performs to the highest international levels in research and publications and will have access to the excellent research facilities which Oxford offers. You will have a role to play in the running of St John’s College as a member of the Governing Body and a trustee of the College. The main duties of the post are as follows: For the Department of Computer Science:          Provide leadership in research and teaching in Computer Science; and contribute to leadership more broadly across the Department and the University. Maintain an excellent publication record in international journals. Provide leadership, where appropriate, towards promoting and enabling the wider impact of research on society. Play a leading role in the strategy and development of Computer Science research and teaching at Oxford. The Department of Computer Science The Department of Computer Science is consistently recognised as the internationally leading centre of research and teaching across a broad spectrum of computer science, ranging from foundational discoveries to interdisciplinary work with significant real-world impact. We are proud of our history as one of the longestestablished computer science departments in the United Kingdom, as we continue to provide first-rate undergraduate and postgraduate teaching to some of the world’s brightest minds. A significant majority of our staff are active in externally sponsored research, with both government and industrial funding. Our 2021 Research Excellence Framework submission saw 81% of our research activity ranked as world-leading (4*), with the rest ranked as internationally excellent (3*).
