The DBL is based on a novel framework intended to support theoretical rigour and systematic, scalable research in empirical bioethics (see publication), created as part of Prof Singh’s previous Wellcome Trust senior investigator project. Our current projects in the DBL are focused on developing a set of digital and dialogical tools to enable identification and investigation of value disagreements around the question: What do we owe future generations? Within this, we are particularly interested in issues related to climate change and/or environmental ethics. As with most of the work in the NEUROSEC Team, our DBL projects are focused on young people and will be co-designed with members of the NeurOX Young People’s Advisory Group. Funding Sources for the Post Funding for the advertised role stems from a Wellcome Trust Discovery Research Platform grant for a project called ANTITHESES: A Platform for Transformative Inclusivity in Ethics and Humanities Research. Antitheses addresses an urgent need for research that can engage meaningfully with the radical value disagreements, polarisation, and informational uncertainty characteristic of contemporary medical science, practice, and policy. Antitheses will develop new tools and methods to address such challenges, across the fields of history, philosophy, the fine arts, design bioethics, sociology, and global bioethics.
