The role requires the candidate to be sales focused and customer service oriented. The Senior Sales Assistant will deputise for the Retail & Ticketing Manager in their absence, and be responsible for following cash handling procedures, including cashing up, processing refunds/exchanges, plus making customer service decisions in the absence of the R & T Manager. They must also produce daily deployment rotas for the team. The Senior Sales Assistant is responsible for running commercial reports and communicating with the larger Commercial Department, verbally, and via email. Responsibilities Staffing    Supporting the Retail and Ticketing Manager in the day-to-day supervision and rotaing of the shop floor team Prioritising the shop team’s daily tasks and motivating the team Acting as duty manager for Retail, supervising Grade 1 & 2 Retail Assistants in support of the R & T Manager, ensuring a consistently excellent level of customer service is provided at all times, and that all processes and procedures are correctly adhered to Sales & Service          You will help to maximise sales across our multiple shop sites - through the up selling of product, offering of Souvenir Guides, Membership and Gift Aid. You will carry out coaching sessions with the Retail Team, train new starters, and assist with any refresher training provided by the Management Team. You will follow operating procedures covering shop security and cash handling regulations and be willing to attend and take an active part in retail legislation and product training sessions You will be responsible for and required to cash up tills as part of the end of day procedure, in line with the museum cash handling process.
