The team exists to nurture and develop lifelong relationships between alumni and the School and also to support the School’s strategic advancement by fostering and developing relationships between potential donors and the School. The School has secured over £100m in philanthropic income in the last five years alone from major trusts and foundations, multinational corporations, alumni, and other HNWIs who share our core values and missions as a global business school rooted in the ancient traditions and global excellence of Oxford University.  Working with the Prospect Research Manager, devise and implement a robust prospect identification schedule and process to provide a rolling supply of new prospective donors for the growing fundraising team.  Work with the Database Officer continually to appraise and audit the team’s existing prospect pools, identifying gaps and weaknesses to ensure a smooth fundraising operation.  Champion GDPR and other relevant datamanagement regulations and legislation within the Development and Alumni Relations team. Reporting to the Associate Director of Operations, the role of Research & Data Officer is a new addition to the team’s busy Operations team , created to provide key support to our fundraising and alumni relations team at a crucial point in the School’s development and expansion. The School has ambitious and exciting fundraising targets, and the Research & Data Officer will play a crucial role in supporting the prospect identification process. They will be required to work with sensitive data held in the University’s databases, along with other sources, on a daily basis to underscore the continuously growing fundraising targets for the team. This is an ideal opportunity for an intelligent and driven data and research professional to sit at the heart of Oxford Saïd’s successful fundraising operation.  Supporting the work of the Development and Alumni Relations teams in researching and writing profiles and briefings on alumni, prospective donors (individuals, companies, trusts and foundations), and other such research projects as might be required.  Using a range of specialist databases and resources, often involving sensitive personal data, to identify prospective donors from among the alumni community and wider philanthropic world, in line with the School’s fundraising priorities and development strategy.  Using the Development and Alumni Relations (DARS) database expertly (training is provided) to understand our relationships, create new opportunities, to capture information effectively, and to maintain the School’s prospecting data.  Running queries from the DARS database to provide data insights to guide and inform the work of the team.  Updating, enriching and cleaning records on the DARS database to ensure optimum performance.  Managing the team’s prospecting data and reporting, ensuring that the team and School The duties of the post are set out as they are envisaged at present, but it will be important for the person appointed to be flexible and adaptable, and able to contribute to the development of the fundraising function of the collegiate University.
