As the Executive Careers Lead, you will spearhead career support for Executive MBA (EMBA) and Master of Major Programme Management (MMPM) students and alumni. Key responsibilities:

We support and help students and alumni to find and prepare for a role that suits their skillset and meets their career development aspirations. We offer customised assistance to corporations, organisations and head-hunters to enable them to access and recruit from the Saïd talent pool. We utilise group learning and professional development to address the needs of students and also provide specific customised support through 1:1 coaching. We manage our tailored online careers management system, OSCAR. Student and alumni coaching This position is responsible for leading the careers provision for Executive EMBA & MMPM students and alumni. It is also responsible for client relationship management with executive search firms. This role reports to the Head of Executive Careers. The Career Development Centre provision has a significant impact on the annual international rankings of the Saïd Business School. Both current EMBAs and recent alumni, across all degree programmes, are surveyed annually the business school rankings and their responses contribute heavily to the final rankings. Developing positive and productive relationships with EMBAs, MBAs and alumni and ensuring all their interactions with the Career Development Centre are of the highest professional quality helps enhance future feedback and therefore rankings outcomes. High business school rankings help ensure the highest quality student applicant pool, which in turn attracts the highest level of corporate interest and corporate engagement with the Career Development Centre. This generates future career success as more students are successfully employed by key MBA/EMBA employers who then return to the school to recruit in future years.  Advise Executive MBA, MMPM and MGHL students and alumni on career transitions and assist them through specific customised coaching delivered through 1:1 coaching sessions.  Coaching and counselling students and alumni to help them understand and articulate their goals, values, motivations, skills and interests and to help them understand the possible options and opportunities available to them, and how to develop those opportunities into effective career transitions  Coaching and counselling students and alumni on how to enhance and present their skills and attributes to ensure they are competitive and desirable candidates in the market. Coaching, advising and supporting students and alumni is often ongoing and in depth across multiple EMBA modules and alumni interactions  Coaching can specifically include, but is not limited to: goal setting, devising job seeking or advancement strategies, networking strategy, skills assessment, market analysis, , specific company/industry insight, CV, cover letter feedback and application reviews, understanding the nuances of different recruitment processes and procedures, interview and assessment centre preparation, mock interview practise, negotiations, coaching on working successfully with recruiters/head-hunters and alumni and onboarding. Relationship management, business development and marketing  Represent the CDC across the business school, University and with recruiters, corporate contacts, head-hunters and alumni. This will include corporate onsite visits, formal meetings and presentations, recruitment presentations and events including international travel where relevant.     Act as a key account person and collaborate with sector employer engagement colleagues to attract employers interested in hiring from the EMBA/MMPM or alumni community and work with other members of the Career Development Centre team to coordinate and manage their approach. Act as a key account person for executive search firms/headhunters who engage with the school raising awareness of the Saïd Business School talent pool and the customised assistance the Career Development Centre offers to top tier executive search firms/head-hunters. Alumni Relations  Work closely with the Alumni Relations Team to strengthen alumni relations and foster alumni engagement.  Assist alumni who wish to engage with the student community and network with other alumni. This can include, but is not limited to, assisting alumni with their hiring needs, proposing candidates and generating introductions, promoting events and opportunities for alumni to engage with students and one another.  Assist students to engage with the alumni community. This can include, but is not limited to, introducing students to alumni, assisting students to approach alumni in an appropriate and productive manner, advising students on alumni approaches for events etc. Career Management System  Regular and prompt updating and management of recruitment and corporate information as well as student coaching notes in OSCAR. This could include recruitment and programme information, recent corporate updates and contact reports. Assist recruiters to utilise the system to its full potential.   Career Coaches are encouraged to identify new opportunities and are supported by management in piloting new ideas. Employee Assistance provider Validium is an employee assistance and wellbeing consultancy that works in partnership with the Business School to provide staff and their immediate family with a free 24-hour per day helpline providing confidential information and counselling services on personal issues. University of Oxford Benefits Annual leave 38 days (inc. public holidays). Long service additional annual leave – up to 5 days per annum, pro rata for part time employees. Previous service within higher education sector can be recognised. An additional scheme enables staff to request to purchase up to 10 additional days in each holiday year. Salary and salary sacrifice schemes The University salary and grading structure allows for annual incremental progression until a scale-bar point is reached. Pension If you are on an academic or academic related pay scale (grade 6 or above), you are automatically a member of USS. Employer contribution is 14.5% and Employee contribution is 6.1%. If you are on a pay scale other than academic or academic related (grade 1-5) you are automatically a member of OSPS. Employee contribution can be between 4%- 8% and Employer contribution 6%10%. University discounts All University staff can purchase a NUS Extra discount card for £12 for 12 months (£22 for 2 years, £32 for 3 years) which gives access to numerous exclusive offers and discounts from many popular retailers. There are a wide range of other discounts from external companies available using a university card. University Club Membership of the University Club is free for all University staff. The University Club offers social, sporting and hospitality facilities.
