We are seeking a Study Coordinator to co-ordinate, manage and facilitate the expansion of enhancements to UK Biobank, which is an open-access biomedical research resource involving half a million participants.

 

In particular you will be responsible for scoping out new methods of data collection, developing project materials preparing research ethics applications and undertaking and publishing methodological research. You will be the primary point of contact for all operational issues relating to a variety of projects and will need to work flexibly to accommodate changing priorities of the overall study.

 

To be considered, you will hold a postgraduate degree in a relevant subject, or equivalent experience. You will also have proven experience in health research study administration, experience of staff management, effective organisational and planning skills and excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a variety of audiences.

 

This is a full time, fixed term post (part time considered) for 3 years.

We work together to answer some of the most important questions about the causes, prevention and treatment of disease. The Department has around 900 staff, students and academic visitors working in a number of world-renowned population health research groups, including the Clinical Trial Service Unit and Epidemiological Studies Unit (CTSU), the Cancer Epidemiology Unit (CEU), the National Perinatal Epidemiology Unit (NPEU) and other groups working on public health, health economics, ethics and health record linkage. The role We are seeking a Study Coordinator to co-ordinate, manage and facilitate the expansion of enhancements to UK Biobank, which is an open-access biomedical research resource involving half a million participants. Examples of projects that you will be involved in include:  The re-assessment of all UK Biobank participants to collect repeated physical measures and biological samples; and  The collection of new data on brain health from participants with neurodegenerative conditions. You will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team of epidemiologists, administrators, IT staff, data analysts, project managers, and other senior management in UK Biobank and elsewhere. You will be based within the UK Biobank Scientific Study Development Group and will report directly to the Scientific Study Development Group Lead of UK Biobank, based in Oxford Population Health, University of Oxford. Responsibilities  Scoping out, developing and delivering major new enhancements to UK Biobank.
