About the role

 

The Higgins group is seeking a project manager to join a research project funded by the Gates Foundation, in which we will produce and test malaria vaccine immunogens designed through rational structure-guided approaches.

 

This part-time fixed-term post is funded by the Gates Foundation for up to 2 years in the first instance.

In conjugation with the research team, they will oversee coordination with international partners, including transfer of samples and drafting of project plans. They will contribute to the drafting of reports for funders and to financial management.

Nature 625 578-584 The role Reporting to Professor Matt Higgins, the post-holder will be part of a vibrant research group who study how human-infective parasites interact with their human hosts and who use this information to guide rational vaccine immunogen design. The post-holder will provide project management to support researchers leading our malaria vaccine development project, funded by the Gates Foundation. These projects require us to conduct pre-clinical vaccine immunogen testing involving international partners. The post-holder will coordinate project planning with these partners, arrange transfer of samples, provide financial and safety management of the project and coordinate meetings. They will work closely with researchers to ensure the delivery of this exciting and vibrant program of malaria vaccine design.
