Join Our Team as a Senior Research Nurse within Oxford Respiratory Trials Unit

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced research nurse to contribute to high-quality and innovative research in the field of respiratory medicine.

The delivery team at the Oxford Respiratory Trials Unit is dedicated to advancing patient care and outcomes. We invite you to apply if you have enthusiasm and initiative to develop knowledge of research, respiratory medicine and nursing practice, and can contribute to a dynamic, collaborative and supportive environment.

About the Role

Our diverse portfolio includes:

  • Observational studies

  • Clinical trials of investigational medicinal products (CTIMPs)

As a Senior Research Nurse, you will be required to work collaboratively with the clinical team and wider multi-disciplinary team in the management of your own caseload of clinical studies ensuring effective recruitment strategies are used to screen, recruit and follow up participants.

You will take part in all aspects of respiratory care and trial assessments, including spirometry, phlebotomy, ECGs, observations and history taking.

You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures for the delivery team and participate in audits and service evaluation.

A key aspect of the role is to act as a resource for the team and provide professional guidance. By working closely with the Research Nurse Manager, you will provide day to day management support and implement team objectives to develop working practices and patient care in the team. The successful candidate will be a NMC registered nurse with experience of working in a clinical research environment and knowledge of research guidelines.
