About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Technical Assistant to join the QUOD biobank team as a maternity cover, based at the Blood Donor Centre in the John Radcliffe Hospital.

 

You will be responsible for the production of sample collection kits and their shipment to QUOD centres and teams across the UK. You will monitor and ensure stock levels of all relevant materials and consumables. You will provide support to the QUOD team for various tasks including the processing of blood, urine and tissue samples for the biobank.

 

You will hold A-levels and/or have significant work experience at a similar level in Biology related subjects. Experience of routine laboratory procedures involving biological sample handling will be an advantage, as well as experience of working according to SOPs. This is a busy role requiring excellent organisational skills, flexibility and good communication.

 

This 0.5 to 0.8 FTE part-time post is available from 1 August 2025 and is fixed-term until 31 May 2026, as a maternity cover.
