<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <p></p><div><strong>About the role</strong>&#160;</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Chemistry to work under the supervision of Professor Andrew Baldwin for a period of up to one year. The project is part of a wider programme of work to establish that membraneless organelles, biological liquid droplets, are effectively regions of organic solvent, suspended inside cells and that the properties of each are governed by the specific intermolecular interactions responsible for stabilising the chains. This presents an exciting opportunity to demonstrate how fundamental principles from physical chemistry have been incorporated into cellular function. We are now looking for a postdoc with expertise in IDPs and NMR that can help us study these systems in more detail. &#160;Training will&#160;be&#160;provided in NMR, programming methods such as python, as well as wet lab skills for handling and producing protein, and performing biophysical assays to study phase separation.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>Find out more about our group here: https://baldwinlab.chem.ox.ac.uk/.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div><strong>About you</strong>&#160;</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>Applicants must hold a PhD Biophysics, Chemistry or a related area, or be close to completion, prior to taking up your appointment. The research requires experience in NMR, familiarity in working with IDPs, experience in the field of phase separation. You will be expected to manage your own academic research and administrative activities. This involves small scale project management, co-ordinating multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>The post will be based in the Kavli Institute for Nanoscience Discovery, New Biochemistry Building, South Parks Road, Oxford and is available immediately.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div><strong>Application Process</strong>&#160;</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>Applications for this vacancy are to be made online and you will be required to upload a supporting statement and CV as part of your application.
