<div>This programme builds on recent discoveries from our group relating to analysis, and intervention to promote optimal human sleep and circadian function. We are targeting a neglected area, with massive unmet medical need. The Biomedical Research Centre is focussed on fundamental research relating to human health and disease, with goals to get interventions in to the clinic in less than 10 years.</div><br>
<div> </div><br>
<div>Our programme uses existing and new human cohorts, seeks to identify human rhythmic phenotypes, and sleep phenotypes using self-reports, and objective measures, and applying population genetics methodologies, including Mendelian randomisation to understand causal effects, and to provide evidence for intervention targets to be prioritised for clinical trials.</div><br>
<div> </div><br>
<div>The postholder will have responsibility for developing new streams of discovery science, and will also work across the Better Sleep theme identifying opportunities to apply data science approaches to accelerate discovery, and progression of interventions to the clinic. The candidate will work with an outstanding team of researchers, in a supportive, and innovative environment.</div><br>
