<div>The mission of Oxford Chemistry is to advance the global understanding of chemistry and to use that knowledge to address major challenges for society. Oxford Chemistry maintains world-class strengths in fundamental research, including the training of outstanding young scientists, whilst being an outward-looking department engaging with other disciplines, industry, public services, government and the general public. Oxford Chemistry is a large department with over 80 research groups and 900 researchers including 400 graduate research students. Its MChem degree takes 180 students a year and features and 4th year focused on research based within one of the Department’s research groups.</div><br>

<div>Proactive fundraising is key to the Department’s financial sustainability and priority areas for development support within its five-year plan include sustainable chemistry, endowing senior academic posts, and graduate scholarships. There are also ambitious capital plans for new Chemistry estate to replace aging buildings over the next 10-15-year period, which provide significant development opportunities.</div><br>

<div><strong>To be successful in this role:</strong></div><br>
<div> </div><br>
<div>•        You will be highly motivated and enthusiastic about the impact of research and teaching in Chemistry.</div><br>
<div> </div><br>
<div>•        You will be educated to degree level or equivalent and will be an experienced development professional with a demonstrable track record of securing six-figure major gifts.</div><br>
<div> </div><br>
<div>•        You must have a confident approach to achieving ambitious income targets and the ability to think entrepreneurially. You will contribute to approaches to high level donors (corporate, trust and individual) and will manage your own donor portfolio.</div><br>
<div> </div><br>
<div>•        To achieve personal income targets of at least £1million annually for Chemistry and achieve department-wide performance expectations of approximately 15 prospect meetings per month.</div><br>
<div> </div><br>
<div>•        Essential to the role is the ability to develop good working relationships with the academic community, and the creativity, discretion and tenacity to manage multiple projects.</div><br>
