Preclinical Research Technician

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated Preclinical Research Technician,
to join the Pandemic Sciences Institute, with the responsibility for the
provision of research support and provide support to scientists working on the
pre-clinical development of vaccines for maternity leave cover.
You will be responsible for performing tissue sampling and assist with various
experiments in the vaccine development program. You will be maintaining in
vivo colonies including accurately recording all data in the in Vivo Colony
Management Database. You will also be maintaining equipment, including
washing, sterilization and disposal, perform quality checks and contribute to
general cleanliness. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-
day running of experimental work in the facility by monitoring stock levels
and preparing reagents.
It is essential that you are educated to a degree standard in biology or
related area. You will have sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline
to work within established research programmes and experience working with in
vivo. You will have experience of working in a laboratory environment with an
accurate and systematic approach to the documentation of experimental work and
experience using database or spreadsheet software. You will also have the
ability to manage your own research and administrative activities, within
guidelines provided by senior colleagues, along with excellent communication
and organizational skills.
