Our HR Systems team, comprising dedicated IT, analytics, and HR professionals,
plays a pivotal role in overseeing the University's enterprise-wide HR and
payroll information system. With over 200 academic departments, divisions, and
central professional services teams, our work impacts every facet of the
University's operations. We are also responsible for the development of Health
and Safety systems, ensuring the safety and well-being of our entire
community.
We have an exciting opportunity to join our HR Systems team as a Senior
Functional Analyst, where you will play a key role in supporting a suite of
Health and Safety systems.

**About the Role**
As a Senior Functional Analyst at the University of Oxford's HR Systems team,
you will play a
pivotal role in managing and enhancing our enterprise-wide HR and payroll
information
systems. You will work closely with our IT, analytics, and HR professionals,
ensuring the
seamless operation of our HR and payroll systems and Health and Safety
systems. Your
responsibilities will include:
• Collaborating with the Functional Analysis Team Lead to oversee software
patching
and feature releases, ensuring quality assurance and benefits realization.
• Acting as the Change Coordinator, planning and coordinating activities
related to
system configuration changes and developments.
• Working with various internal teams and stakeholders to establish business
requirements, prioritize system enhancements, and provide subject matter
expertise.
• Providing second-line support to resolve technical issues swiftly and
efficiently,
escalating to software vendors when necessary.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain training
materials,
end-user guidance, and support documentation.
• Contributing to system testing and user acceptance testing efforts, ensuring
compliance with changes in legislation, policies, and statutory requirements.
• Collaborating with colleagues to identify, prioritize, and implement system
enhancements and ensure effective strategic decision-making.
• Maintaining a responsive, high-quality customer service approach, following
data
protection principles at all times.
**About You**
You will have:
• Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to understand and address HR business, process, and procedural
requirements, along with IT-related issues.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to convey technical ideas to
non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with defining and writing reports, ideally using SQL and
PowerBI/SSRS.
• Strong administrative and organizational skills, with the ability to
prioritize tasks
effectively.
• Team player with an approachable and helpful attitude.
• Discretion in handling confidential information in line with data protection
policies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, email, and web browsers.
It would be desirable if you have:
• Proficiency in writing Oracle SQL queries.
• Experience working in an IT service-managed environment or foundation ITIL
qualification.
• PRINCE2/project qualification or experience working in projects following a
recognized methodology.
• Recent experience with Human Resources or Health and Safety business
systems.
