Senior Head of Policy

Reporting to the Director of Undergraduate Admissions and Outreach (UAO), the
post-holder will be expected to manage the design, development and
implementation of specific strategic projects to support the policies and
guidance to support undergraduate admissions and outreach from Oxford. The
post-holder will provide professional support for the successful delivery of
the projects, as well as feedback to the Director, UAO and the wider
collegiate University on the progress and the outcomes of these projects. The
post-holder will also be responsible for the management of UAO’s Policy Team.
The Policy Team facilities the main committees for areas related to
undergraduate admissions and outreach, the three sub-groups and various
working groups and updates other related groups across the collegiate
University.





The role will include being responsible for offering advice to the Director on
matters such as admissions appeals, the annual publication of the
undergraduate statistics, freedom of information requests and other relevant
enquires and policy issues that are part of the UAO’s executive office. The
advice and guidance will inform the development of the work relating to
undergraduate admissions and outreach programmes, communications and policy.
The post-holder will therefore have a strong knowledge of higher education and
best practice, both relating to the collegiate University and the wider higher
education sector.





The post-holder will also be expected to play a key part in the strategic
direction of the department and will be a member of the senior leadership
team. As such, this is a responsible position which requires tact and
sensitivity to the challenges and opportunities which arise within the UAO,
the collegiate University and the Higher Education sector.
