Research Assistant in Antimicrobial Resistance

<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <p></p><div>We are seeking a Research Assistant to work on an ERC Advanced project studying the evolutionary biology of antibiotic resistance led by Craig MacLean.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>The overall goal of this project is to understand the processes that drive the rise and fall of antibiotic resistance during infections. The postholder will contribute to this by phenotypic analysis of isolates collected from patients during a clinical trial and by running controlled resistance evolution experiments in the lab.&#160; These experiments will be carried out in conjunction with other members of the lab (postdocs, PhD students), and the postholder will play a key role in this team. This project will involve carrying out large-scale experiments, and the postholder will require excellent organization and lab management skills.</div><br> <div>&#160;</div><br> <div>This post is ideally suited for applicants who have a relevant degree and/or previous experience work experience in microbiology, ideally with experience in AMR.&#160; The position will be based in a diverse research group that is friendly and supportive.
