Research Technician - Oxygen sensitivity

Are you looking to start an exciting career in Research? We are seeking a
Research Technician, specialising in Oxygen Sensitivity to join the Ludwig
Institute for Cancer Research, to support a collaborative project between the
labs of Richard White, Tammie Bishop and Peter Ratcliffe.





The overarching purpose of this role is to manage the development of _in
vitro_ and _in vivo_ assays for measuring oxygen sensitivity, and maintain
quality control of the assays used, as well as process samples, monitor
results to spot discrepancies and propose refinements and re-run experiments
where necessary. You will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of
the laboratory, e.g. by ensuring equipment is functioning and monitoring and
ordering stock as necessary, as well as maintaining equipment, including
washing, sterilisation and disposal, performing quality checks and
contributing to the general cleanliness and upkeep of the laboratory space.





It is essential that you are educated to at least A-level, or equivalent
qualification in science, with experience of working laboratory environment
and working with hazardous chemicals. You will be able to troubleshoot
problems with experiments and arrive at an appropriate solution, and you will
have a strong attention to detail, with the ability to organise samples and
record results in a clear and organised fashion.

This position is offered full time on a fixed term contract for 12 months and
