<p></p><div>The exceptional opportunity has arisen to lead the University of Oxford’s fundraising for Student Support with the <em>Development Office</em><em>.</em></div><br>

<div>The Head of Development – Student Support will take a lead on fundraising with a focus on securing major gifts for student support and the learning experience, including graduate scholarships and access (outreach), continuing education, sport, internships, mentoring, widening participation (local schools), the counselling service, volunteering, and support for students (e.g. disability, minority and international groups). The role will also be responsible for delivering fundraising for strategic initiatives in response to the broader strategy and goals of the University.</div><br>

<div><strong>Responsibilities of the role:</strong></div><br>
<div> </div><br>
<div>•        The Head of Development will manage a portfolio of more than 80 major gifts prospects, and will be responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of potential donors, typically in the range of £250,000-£2,500,000, delivering £3m per year. The post holder may need to collaborate on approaches with other University development staff, including the Pro-Vice-Chancellor – Development and External Affairs, and the Chief Development Officer.</div><br>

<div>•        The Head of Development will line manage a successful team of fundraisers and will be responsible for bringing in a team total of £10 million.</div><br>

<div><strong>To be successful in this role:</strong></div><br>
<div> </div><br>
<div>•        A proven track record in major gift fundraising; also a strong natural drive towards getting out into the field and a demonstrable ability to ask successfully for significant gifts.</div><br>
<div> </div><br>
<div>•        The ability to represent the University among a range of external constituencies.</div><br>
<div> </div><br>
<div>•        An interest in higher education and in particular an understanding of Oxford University, its mission and its need for external funding in order to set the work of the Development Office in its proper context.</div><br>
<div> </div><br>
<div>•        A passion for social mobility, support for students and the learning experience.</div><br>
<div> </div><br>
<div>•        A strong natural initiative for getting out into the field, with the capability of acting as an ambassador for Student Support and the University at the highest levels. This must be accompanied by a willingness to work out of regular hours and to travel.</div><br>
