Governance, Ethics & Assurance** **.**

Oxford has an extensive portfolio of research involving human participants in
the UK and around the world. In the clinical field, this includes the
investigation of new treatments for major diseases, the development of
vaccines, and the testing of new medical devices. In recent times, clinical
research teams have led the development of a globally deployed COVID vaccine
in partnership with AstraZeneca and major studies to identify effective COVID
treatments. Earlier in 2023, the high-efficacy R21/Matrix-M malaria vaccine
received its first regulatory clearance for use in populations.





The Research Governance, Ethics & Assurance (RGEA) Team within Research
Services provides wide-ranging support, facilitation and expert advice to
researchers and departments across Oxford’s clinical and non-clinical research
involving human participants. As its Director, you will provide exemplary
leadership to the RGEA Team and ensure the ongoing development and delivery of
outstanding research support services in the area of research governance
(including facilitating compliance with national and international regulatory
frameworks), study monitoring and quality assurance, research sponsorship,
research ethics, human tissue governance, and research risk and insurance.





As a member of the Research Services Leadership Team, you will contribute
strongly and actively to the effective management, development and success of
the overall unit and our talented and committed people, and you will champion
our values and commitments.





You will bring to this senior role substantial experience and a track record
of achievement and leadership in delivering outstanding research governance
support services and of facilitating the undertaking of research involving
human participants in line with regulatory, ethical and academic frameworks.
You will be an exceptional leader and manager, with a deep commitment to
supporting and developing colleagues to succeed.
