Postdoctoral Research Associate in Chemistry
Applications for this vacancy closed on 6 December 2023 at 12:00PM
**Previous applicants need not apply **
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Chemistry to
work under the supervision of Professor Andrew Baldwin, the post is full time
and fixed term for 12 months. The ERC funded project is part of a wider
programme of work to establish that membraneless organelles, biological liquid
droplets, are effectively regions of organic solvent, suspended inside cells
and that the properties of each are governed by the specific intermolecular
interactions responsible for stabilising the chains. This presents an exciting
opportunity to demonstrate how fundamental principles from physical chemistry
have been incorporated into cellular function.
_Find out more about the Baldwin Group and their research at:_
http://baldwinlab.chem.ox.ac.uk/
Applicants must hold a PhD in Biochemistry, Chemistry or a related area (or be
close to completion) prior to taking up the appointment. The candidate will be
expected to manage their own academic research and administrative activities.
This involves small scale project management, co-ordinating multiple aspects
of work to meet deadlines as well as guidance for PhD students.
The post will be based in the Kavli Institute for Nanoscience Discovery,
Oxford and be available from September 2023.
You will be required to upload a supporting statement and CV as part of your
online application. The closing date for applications is **12.00 midday,
Wednesday 6th December 2023.** Interviews will be held in December 2023.
The University of Oxford and the Department of Chemistry are Silver Athena
SWAN award holders. Applications are particularly welcome from women and black
and ethnic minority candidates, who are under-represented in Chemistry
research posts in Oxford.
