**About the Role**
The Oxford Respiratory Trials Unit (ORTU) is seeking a Research Nurse Manager
to oversee the of Research Nurse/Practitioner team and to drive the strategic
growth and development of the team.
The post holder will be responsible for supervising the Research
Nurse/Practitioner team based at ORTU and providing professional guidance and
day to day supervision. Responsibilities include the development of policy and
process, selection, development and performance review of research nurses and
practitioners and ensuring adequate funding is in place. You will have a
health related degree and have experience of clinical research management at
senior level. Having both knowledge and experience of nursing patients with
respiratory disorders are desirable for this role.
This is a Team Lead role but there will be opportunities to contribute to the
recruitment and follow up of participants into respiratory research studies
being hosted at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (OUHFT).
The portfolio of trials being delivered by the team includes observational
studies, clinical trials of investigational medicinal products (CTIMPs) and
medical device trials.
Research areas include lung cancer, pleural diseases, COPD, asthma, Idiopathic
pulmonary fibrosis, bronchiectasis, chronic cough, and respiratory sleep and
breathing disorders. Through our collaboration with the Oxford Primary Care
Clinical Trials Unit, we are also supporting the PANORAMIC trial investigating
novel antivirals in COVID-19.
