Part-time Assistant Proctors' Officer
Applications for this vacancy closed on 3 January 2024 at 12:00PM
**Grade 3: £25,138 p.a. (pro rata) variable hours (hourly rate £13.24)**
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a team which provides
valuable support at University events, visits and ceremonies.
We are looking for friendly, hard-working individuals who enjoy working
outdoors no matter the weather, and who enjoy providing exceptional customer
service. You will be working closely with University staff, students, guests
and the general public, showing them where to go, checking tickets/eligibility
for entry, monitoring the crowd and generally helping to ensure the event runs
smoothly.
A background in working as a steward or event marshal would be an advantage
but not essential as training will be provided. However, you will need to
successfully pass a basic Disclosure and Barring Service check, in preparation
for licensing under the Private Security Industry Act 2001.
We are recruiting to multiple posts in order to expand the existing pool of
Assistant Proctors’ Officers available for events. The role is a variable-
hours position therefore, flexibility is essential as the majority of events
will take place in the evenings or at weekends. We cannot guarantee regular
hours as they are dictated by the number of events and ceremonies across the
University each year.
The closing date for applications is 12.00 noon on 3 January 2024. Interviews
are planned for the week commencing 22 January 2024 and will be held in
person.
