Research Co-ordinator

**About the Role**





We are looking for a Research Co-ordinator to join the TGU research group at
the John Radcliffe Hospital. You will have the ability to work under pressure
and independently, demonstrate excellent numeracy and ability to work with
databases, alongside outstanding interpersonal skills for effective
communication with people at all levels. You will be based in Oxford with
close interactions with your line managers, Prof. Susanna Dunachie (study
Chief Investigator) and Mrs Lizzie Stafford (Clinical Research Nurse Manager).
You will also work with Paul Klenerman (co-Chief Investigator of PITCH-2),
Prof. Eleanor Barnes, (University of Oxford lead for STRAVINSKY study), and
collaborators at the other sites including Dr Lance Turtle (University of
Liverpool), Thushan de Silva (University of Sheffield), Chris Duncan
(Newcastle University), Alex Richter (University of Birmingham) and James
Thaventhiran (University of Cambridge).





Whilst the role is a Grade 6 £32,332 - £38,205 position, we would be willing
to consider candidates with potential but less experience who are seeking a
development opportunity, for which the appointment would be at Grade 5 £28,759
- £33,966 per annum with the responsibilities adjusted accordingly.







**About You**





The post holder will provide comprehensive administration support for the
PITCH consortium, ensuring the smooth running of the research, and compliance
with regulations/guidelines of the University of Oxford, Oxford University
Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (OUH) and appropriate national policies. You
will be the main point of contact for enquiries to the PITCH consortium from
internal and external organisations and have responsibility for the
coordination of all clinical studies and research projects running through the
consortium. This post requires someone who has significant demonstrable
administrative experience, can work proactively both as a member of a multi-
disciplinary team and independently, using their initiative to seek solutions
to problems and exercise a high level of confidentiality. Experience with
coordinating projects as well as excellent communication skills and the
ability to work under pressure are essential. Strong IT skills, particularly
data management, are also essential.





You will also need to demonstrate that you have:





• Been educated to university level or equivalent.



• Significant administrative experience, preferably in a research environment.



• A high standard of numeracy and ability to manage/extract and export
selected data and manage finances.



• Strong problem-solving skills including ability to manage and prioritise a
varied and busy workload to meet deadlines.





Having experience of working in a research environment and with clinical
trials ethics and regulatory requirements are both desirable capabilities for
this post.
