We are seeking to appoint a highly qualified and dedicated Postdoctoral
Research Associate in Translational Biology to join our research team at
Oxford Translational Myeloma Centre which is based at Botnar Research Centre,
Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences
(NDORMS), Oxford



As a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Translational Biology you will lead
laboratory experiments and the computational analysis and interpretation of
data with the goal of discovering biological pathways, patterns and genes that
are responsible for the drivers of drug response or resistance in multiple
myeloma. You will specifically interrogate multiple Myeloma cell lines and
immune cells for studying the mechanism of action of epigenetic therapy in
Multiple Myeloma . In partnership with industrial and academic collaborators
you will analyse patient derived genomic, immune, pharmacokinetic and
pharmacodynamic data to build hypothesis and test them in laboratory models.
You will contribute ideas for new research projects, collaborate in the
preparation of scientific reports and journal articles and act as a source of
information and advice to other members of the group.



You will hold a PhD/DPhil (or near completion) in a discipline of direct
relevance to molecular techniques and assays together with experience to
undertake cell based analysis of drug activities. Ability to develop novel
assays for testing compounds and their mechanisms based on genetics, OMICs and
other assays is essential for success in this project. We are looking for a
candidate who would be able to deliver high quality research outputs, as
demonstrated by a strong publication record in high profile scientific
journals. Familiarity with the existing literature and research in the field
of Myeloma or cancer biology together with passion for problem-solving
desirable but not essential. Experience in drug related research, strong
publication track record and experience of presenting work at meetings and
cross-disciplinary collaborative experience are desirable.



This is a full-time fixed-term appointment for 2 years in the first instance.
