Business Manager for Cardiovascular Medicine, in the Radcliffe Department of Medicine

We are recruiting the Business Manager who leads the professional services
team of the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine (CVM), one of five divisions
in the large and multidisciplinary Radcliffe Department of Medicine (RDM). You
will work closely with the academic Head of Cardiovascular Medicine, being
proactive and innovative in the development of strategic and business plans.
You will be responsible for providing operational leadership and effective and
efficient professional services to Cardiovascular Medicine, to support and
grow its research, graduate and clinical services programmes. You will lead
and develop the professional services team in Cardiovascular Medicine,
including line managing the HR Manager, Grants and Finance Manager, Laboratory
Manager and the Head of Clinical Research Operations and Governance.





This role offers the stimulating opportunity to work across a wide-ranging
portfolio including financial and research grants management and forecasting,
support for academic activities including three multidisciplinary research and
clinical facilities, HR and estates. Working with RDM’s Head of Administration
and Finance (your line manager), and the Business Managers in RDM’s other four
divisions, you will help ensure sharing of best practice and consistency of
approach across RDM. As a member of RDM’s Senior Leadership Team you will
contribute to the strategic development of the Department as a whole.





Educated to degree level or equivalent, you will have demonstrable experience
of senior managerial experience, including finance and personnel
administration. You will have the proven ability to lead and manage change,
allied with strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise,
delegate and ensure your work and that of your team is completed to deadlines.
You will possess a high level of personal discretion, tact and judgement,
expressed in excellent communication skills and the ability to work
effectively with a wide range of people. You will be confident to use complex
enterprise-level software packages. Experience of higher education
administration would be an advantage.





This position is based on the John Radcliffe Hospital site and is offered at
Grade 9 on a full-time basis. There will be the opportunity to discuss a
combination of onsite/remote working as appropriate to the role.
