We are seeking to recruit two Technician to join the Department of Biomedical
Services (BMS). The department provides for the care and welfare of animals in
experimental research and in doing so we support the scientific community
across the University.





These posts are full-time permanent position, 36.5 hours per week.





These positions require a commitment to animal care and it includes essential
daily checks in line with the Home Office requirements.





The role will be an integral part of a small team of Technicians, you will be
required to organise your own allocated work load on a day to day basis.





Dedication to animal welfare is essential as will be your ability to assess
the condition of the animal during the daily health checks. You will be
required to hold an active personnel licence and perform regulated procedures
as part of this role. Training will be provided where an active licence or up
to date modules are not already in place.





**About you:**



It is essential that you have relevant experience of working in a laboratory
animal environment and you will be educated to at least IAT Level 2 or an
equivalent qualification.





Holding a Home office PIL licence is essential however we will also consider
applicants who do not hold an active PIL Licence.
