We are looking for a motivated Clinical Research Fellow to support the
clinical trial programme in vaccine and immunotherapy research at the Jenner
Institute, University of Oxford, a world leading centre for vaccine
development with a strong translational emphasis. This role affords an
excellent opportunity to gain experience in clinical academia by joining a
vibrant group within the Department conducting clinical research on Malaria,
Covid19, HIV and numerous other infectious diseases. You will be a key part of
a multidisciplinary clinical trials team working on trials of global health
significance and this post will afford a broad training in clinical trial
design and management. There is full integration and active collaboration
between clinical and laboratory teams. You will collaborate widely with other
research groups within the University and with academic and industrial
partners, nationally and internationally.





As a Clinical Research Fellow, you will be responsible for providing clinical
input into the design and execution of clinical trials with other team members
and lead on the clinical delivery of these trials. You will work closely with
the clinical trials team including project managers, nurses, recruitment
coordinators and data managers. According to clinical trial protocols, you
will conduct screening of volunteers and provide medical oversight for
administration of vaccines and infectious agents for human challenge studies.
Additionally, you will undertake administrative work supporting clinical trial
conduct including regulatory oversight and safety reporting.





It is essential that you are a GMC registered medical doctor and educated to
degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject. You must be currently
qualified and license to practise medicine in the UK. You will have relevant
experience in clinical medicine, equivalent to completion of core medical
training as a minimum. You will have excellent verbal and written
communication skills together with an ability to work independently and as a
team member. Having experience working in clinical studies is desirable.
